Walking around the city when I ran into this place and the first thing I noticed was the wonderful smell!! Decided to stop and give it and try and let me just say it didn’t disappoint! I ordered the Norcino and immediately wanted to go back for more!!! If in Florence please stop and give them a try one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life!!!
Quality is good, size of sandwich is really big, price is fair. This place is worth to visit in my opinion to eat sandwich with pork meat in Florence. I've been waiting for my order some around 10 min and it was a Norcino option. Sandwich is big enough to satisfy two person hunger. I definietly recommend this place.
This place is bad and I'm confused why it has such a good rating. Every sandwich shop basically sells the same porchetta meat. What varies is how thin they slice it, what sauce they add and what bread they use.
Most places use the deli slicer so the meat is very thin, pillowy and has a nice consistency. Here they just cut it thick with a knife and unfortunately that doesn't work for what is basically a cold deli meat which has lots of fat. The bread here is bad too - it's just rock hard because they keep it the entire time in an oven heating rather than toasting it right before serving it like the other places. The green sauce is nice but it just can't compensate for how bad everything else is.
Perfect for a quick bite to eat right next to the Ponte Veccio in the heart of Florence. The bread was warm, the pork was tender and the green sauce was delicious.
If you are hungry and currently in the city center of Florence, I would suggest to step by the Antica Porchetteria Granieri 1916. Their sandwiches are super tasty. And you can watch them cutting of the pieces from the whole pig.
Bread was a bit tough, very nice pork though and the red sauce was very spice and tasty. Overall very nice sandwich. Not anywhere to sit outside it
I don't understand why it has so many positive ratings. Ok, sandwitches looks good, bread was warm and tasted well but pork was cold, fat and tasted like shoe sole. Pork casing had hard herbs, many small sprigs of herbs that dig into the palate and gums. Terrible and expensive.
Been very interested in trying this place and pinned it as a must do as part of our recent trip to Italy summer of 2023.
I think anywhere that has lasted this long and maintained the traditions of preparing porchetta in this way is worth trying.
Was it amazing no… was it worth it price and expecting was yes.
We opted for a small serving with their herb sauce it was moist and whilst not an issue for us served cold. Which made sense being out on a 37 degree day.
